Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced AS/400 RPG Developer to develop, optimize, and maintain business-critical applications on the IBM AS/400 (i
Series) platform. The ideal candidate will have strong RPG and CL programming skills, experience with DB2 databases, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Development & Implementation:
  • Develop, test, and deploy applications using RPG and CL on the AS/400 platform.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
• Application Maintenance & Optimization:
  • Maintain, enhance, and optimize existing AS/400 applications to ensure performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, providing efficient resolutions to maintain system stability.
• Collaboration & Process Improvement:
  • Work closely with project teams and business stakeholders to ensure timely software delivery.
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to propose and implement innovative solutions.
• Technical Documentation & Support:
  • Document processes, application changes, and technical implementations.
  • Provide user support and training when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in AS/400 development using RPG and CL.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with DB2 for AS/400.
• Experience with ILE RPG, ILE CL, modular development, and code reuse.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Ability to foster communication and collaboration within both local and remote teams.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with ADELIA Studio.
• Exposure to modernization projects on AS/400.
