Business and Functional Analyst

:The Role:
The key objective of this role is to bridge the gap between the client’s needs and the technical delivery team, to help successfully deliver projects within this diverse and challenging environment. The Business and Functional Analyst (BFA) will be heavily involved at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle, from initial scope definition and planning exercises to the detailed analysis and collaboration with the IT team, to deliver working software.
The Business and Functional Analyst will be required to work effectively with the Treasury team, Treasury
Operations, the Product Owner and other Business and Functional Analysts, within the Treasury IT team and the IT vendor teams, to successfully deliver the projects.
The role requires an enthusiastic, pragmatic
- starter, who wants to solve problems, by delivering quality and
- effective solutions, through the employment of excellent business analysis techniques, data analysis skills and functional domain knowledge.
Responsibilities:
• Defining and refining business cases in conjunction with Treasury, as part of the Project initiation
• Challenging, capturing, and articulating requirements, according to the quality standards operating within the team
• Maintaining and managing the product backlog to ensure priorities are agreed with Treasury.
• Pro-active in identifying cost effective solutions to business problems.
• Acting as the voice of the client throughout the development process
• Liaising with all parties involved (Treasury, Operations, IT delivery team), to ensure successful delivery.
• Assisting and supporting QAT and UAT
• Ensuring agreed analysis deliverables are prepared, according to deadline of the projects.
• Mediating and resolving issues, as and when they arise
• Close
- operation with other teams in the Bank, to ensure strategic initiatives are leveraged.
• Identifying areas where we can improve the analysis and delivery capabilities of the wider team.
• Keeping aware of the latest industry trends and best practices, to improve the team.
Work includes:
• Identifying the full range of business requirements and translating requirements into functional specifications, for solution development and implementation,
• Analyzing business requirements and the associated impacts of the changes,
• Analyzing existing processes and data, to get insights about current state,
• Designing and assisting businesses in developing optimal target state business processes,
• Creating and executing against roadmaps that focus on solution development and implementation,
• Answering questions of methodological approach with varying levels of complexity,
• Aligning with other key stakeholder groups (such as Treasury Change and Software
Engineering), to support the link between the business divisions and the solution providers, for all aspects of identifying, implementing, and maintaining solutions.
Skills:
• Outstanding analysis skills, comprising demonstrable experience of all aspects of analysis, such as business process modelling, use cases/ user story writing, data modelling, UML,
• Experience in stakeholder management and building excellent professional relationships,
• Previous financial domain experience is a plus,
• Beneficial to understand financial products and
- level risk management principles,
• Beneficial to have experience working on projects requiring data analysis,
• Comfortable working within a full project life cycle, from initiation through to delivery,
• Experience of working with an agile methodology would be an advantage,
• Experience of liaison with other departments (i. e. , business units, infrastructure teams, audit)
across multiple countries,
• Experience in working with remote client and vendor resources,
• Experience in identifying and documenting client technical needs, internal structures, procedures, workflows, and systems,
• Proven track record of delivering projects in a challenging environment,
• Fantastic written and oral communication,
• Flexible - keen to learn new technologies and to extend business domain knowledge,
• Good
- solving skills,
• Demonstrable success in meeting deadlines and operating with clients and vendors,
• Work to schedules, potentially across multiple projects and teams,
• Pragmatic yet showing a high attention to detail,
• Educated to degree level.
