We are eager to meet talented C++ Software Engineers who can realize innovative, robust, and creative solutions to complicated development challenges in an end-to-end product development environment.

We are currently looking for engineers to join us for the following project:

Active Captain is our companion app designed to enhance the boating experience with key features like navigation and boat control.

We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.

Responsabilities:

• Reviews complex tasks for soundness of technical judgment and overall adequacy and accuracy.
• Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of established standards and procedures.
• Improves existing software with limited assistance from other associates.
• Effectively manages tasks and priorities for overlapping projects and meets deadlines in a consistent, complete, and accurate manner.
• Works collaboratively and professionally in a team environment with other Garmin associates to achieve goals.
• Demonstrates effective discretion, judgment and
  - making abilities.
• Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Communicates status of work clearly providing visibility to supervisor.
• Act as a Feature Owner for Marine initiatives that involve the apps.
• Develop/maintain Mobile Core components.
• Design and develop new modules in the Marine ecosystem.
• Understands and fulfills Garmin's and departmental Mission, Vision, Values and Quality Policy.

Requirements

• Good knowledge of C++ (C++11, C++14, C++17).
• Good knowledge of OOP & Design.
• Knowledge of basic system architectures.
• Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques.
• Shows ability to use appropriate tools for solving the job at hand.
• Ability to find technical root cause and corrective action for given problems.
• Excellent English speaking and writing skills.
• BSc in Computer Science, IT or similar.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.

Would be a plus:

• Mobile development experience (Kotlin, Swift).
• Knowledge of Java, JNI, and Objective C.
