For our business partner, one of the largest integrators of IT and physical security solutions for national and European critical infrastructure, we seek a motivated Database Technical Lead to coordinate a team of database administrators and developers, ensuring that the data solutions are optimized, scalable, and secure.  

This role involves collaborating with various technical departments to implement best practices in database management and architecture while actively participating in designing, optimizing, and maintaining
- scale databases.

This is a

- site in Bucharest.

Main responsibilities:

• Led the database team: Supervised daily activities, providing mentorship, and technical support for database administrators and developers.
• Database architecture and design: Developing and implementing efficient data structures and models to support application and project needs.
• Performance optimization: Monitoring database performance and implementing optimization strategies (indexing, normalization, caching, etc. ) to ensure fast response times and maximum availability.
• Security and compliance: Ensuring data protection and implementing appropriate security measures in line with legal and company requirements.
• Availability and backup management: Planning and implementing backup and recovery procedures to minimize data loss and ensure disaster recovery.
• Automation and tools: Identifying and implementing tools and automation processes for efficient database management.
• Cross-department collaboration: Working closely with software development, Dev
  Ops, and product teams to ensure effective integrations and meet the company’s data needs.
• Documentation and best practices: Creating and maintaining technical documentation for databases and promoting best practices within the team.

Your profile

• A minimum of 5+ years in database administration and development, with at least 2+ years in leadership or coordination roles.
• Strong technical skills: Advanced knowledge of SQL and
  - on experience with database platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgre
  SQL, My
  SQL, etc.
• Performance optimization expertise: Experience in performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and transaction management.
• Cloud solutions experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e. g. , AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, Azure Database) and ability to work in hybrid environments.
• Security knowledge: Understanding data security standards and practices, with experience in encryption, access management, and compliance requirements.
• Scripting proficiency: Experience with scripting languages (e. g. , Python, Bash, Power
  Shell) for task automation.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail: Ability to diagnose complex issues and develop sustainable solutions.
• Interpersonal and communication skills: Effective communication with technical and
  - technical teams, along with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Education: University technical studies (e. g. , Automation and Computers, Systems Engineering, etc. ).
