We are seeking a
- driven professional to join the
- site team in the role Design Engineering Expert – Mechanical to lead local and international team members as part of the Project Management Organization. Reporting to the Superintendent Design Authority this role will be Supporting with the refurbishment of the Cernavoda Unit 1. This role will be to support major refurbishment projects at Cernavoda Nuclear Generating Station in Romania. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the project activities for large refurbishment projects and will interface closely with the client and 3rd party contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design Engineering Expert - Mechanical- reports directly to the Superintendent Design Authority and has as main accountabilities:
• Support heads of services within the Engineering Department in the evaluation for acceptance of detailed solutions, technical specifications, implementation, and testing plans with respect to design engineering
• Provide oversight and verification of the complex implementation and testing plans for critical activities in the refurbishment project
• Monitor and ensure that design and refurbishment activities are performed in accordance approved project schedule, budget, and relevant QA processes
• Define and manage interfaces and scope between
  - specific design areas to ensure that sufficient resources are allocated to each stage of project

• Provide assurance that design and manufacturing activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs, and applicable procedures • Adhere to

Requirements

EDUCATION

• A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering

QUALIFICATIONS : We are seeking a
- driven professional who has the following:

• Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization will be an advantage

• 10 years relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years of experience working with CANDU Nuclear Power Plants

• In depth knowledge of site outage/installation/maintenance of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants

• Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations, with expertise in design engineering

• Demonstrated capability to manage and lead

• Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and high pressure to support unit restart schedules

• Excellent
- solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful completion

• A Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) or eligible for PEO status with a passion for engineering

• Experience in project management is an asset

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality

• Strong attention to detail and to quality assurance requirements

• Demonstrated ability to work in a
- disciplinary team situation

• Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement
