Your Mission

We are looking for an experienced Game Economist / Economy Designer, preferably with experience in game economies. In this role, you will support the General Manager in shaping the app’s virtual economy to drive growth in engagement and revenue. You’ll collaborate closely with the
- functional product team to design systems that optimise our virtual currency, user resources and reward mechanics.
The perfect fit for this role is someone with
- on experience balancing supply and demand by managing the inflation and deflation of virtual currencies, goods, and services. You deeply understand the interplay between price and demand, quality and price, and quality and demand. Beyond that, you excel at translating virtual economic systems into
- world spending behaviours, ensuring every aspect of the economy aligns with user engagement and monetisation goals.
What you’ll be doing- Design and implement virtual economies by developing sustainable and
- centric economic systems, including virtual currencies, reward systems, and resource flows.
- Analyse user behaviour and transaction data to understand how users interact with features, identify areas for optimisation, and ensure systems align with user needs and business objectives.
- Create models for subscription pricing,
- app purchases, and virtual goods to drive monetisation strategies and ensure they balance user value with revenue growth.
- Explore segmentation based on behavioural theories and data to recommend new strategies for influencing feature design and build economic models to accurately forecast revenue and user engagement.
- Monitor and maintain the economic health of the app by continuously assessing and refining economic systems to prevent inflation, deflation, or unintended user behaviours, ensuring fairness and balance.
- Experiment and iterate on economic systems by collaborating with the product team to design A/B tests and analyse results, using insights to optimise user experiences and monetisation strategies.
- Collaborate with product, design and engineering to ensure economic systems are seamlessly integrated into the app experience.
- Support

- making by partnering with product analytics and engineering to develop dashboards and predictive models for tracking key economic metrics and performance.
- Promote user satisfaction by designing systems that reward engagement, foster loyalty, and encourage meaningful interactions, ensuring users feel valued and incentivised.
What you’ll need to succeed- You’ve extensive experience analysing complex economic dynamics and making the right modelling tradeoffs by applying strong economic reasoning.
- You have solid experience balancing supply and demand by managing the inflation and deflation of virtual currencies, goods and services. You also strongly understand designing and optimising virtual economies, including resource management, progression and rewards mechanics.
- You believe in
- driven design, with the ability to analyse massive amounts of data on user behaviours to adjust the economy based on performance metrics.
- You know SQL well enough to analyse data independently.
- You're
- versed in behavioural analytics and believe in the scientific approach to experimentation, including A/B testing and multivariate testing. You can lean on significance analysis,
- parametric methods, bootstrapping, and causal inference when needed.
- You’re passionate about keeping
