Role description:

As a geotechnical flood defense specialist based in Iași, you work together with experienced colleagues in the Netherlands on issues related to primary and regional flood defenses. The results of your work are part of our customer advice. Technology, environment and spatial quality go hand in hand to achieve a safe, appropriate and beautiful result. To achieve this, we take you into the geotechnical field, where you will undergo a broad and
- depth development in dike technology, including sustainability and circularity.

Role accountabilities:

Conducting stability and settlement calculations for various geotechnical projects;

Analyzing soil parameters and geotechnical data to assess the stability and settlement of soil structures;

Collaborating with engineers and designers to integrate geotechnical aspects into project designs;

Reporting findings and recommendations to the project team.

Qualifications & Experience:

A master or bachelor in the field of civil engineering (geotechnics, hydraulic engineering) or earth sciences;

A minimum of 5 years relevant work experience and/or relevant knowledge in the field of geotechnical modeling: Familiarity with geotechnical models, including Mohr Coulomb and CSSM with Shansep, for conducting stability calculations of soil structures; Experience in conducting settlement calculations using the isotachen method or similar methods; Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and practices; Ability to analyze, interpret, and translate geotechnical data into practical solutions;

Strong communication skills and ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts;

Knowledge of or experience in the application of GIS systems, databases, programming in Python is an advantage;

Command of the English language (level B2/C1), command of Dutch is a pre;

Flexibility in work location and in collaboration with different colleagues and cultures.
