Job Description
Responsibilities:
Essential:
- Prepare soil boring, rock coring, CPT, DMT, test pit, and other exploration logs using software such as g
INT and Open
Ground. - Create and update boring log templates in g
INT and Open
Ground. - Develop fence diagrams for soil profiles.
- Organize large datasets (e. g. , from lab reports and historical reports) into structured tables.
- Perform soil classification using USCS, ASTM D2487, and ASTM D2488 standards.
- Assign, review, compile, and summarize data from geotechnical laboratory testing.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, g
INT, and Open
Ground. - Ensure a high level of attention to detail in all deliverables.
Preferred:
- Collaborate with senior engineers on geotechnical design calculations for pavements, foundations (shallow and deep), tunnel components, retaining walls, and support of excavation systems.
- Conduct geotechnical analyses, including settlement analysis, ground improvement techniques, slope stability, and seepage studies.
- Prepare engineering reports and memoranda.
- Explore opportunities for innovation using data science, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with geotechnical investigation techniques and laboratory testing procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new software and tools as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with additional geotechnical analysis software (e. g. , Settle3, MSEW, APile, Lpile, SLOPE/W, or SEEP/W).
- Exposure to geospatial tools such as GIS for geotechnical applications.
