The Role

You will be responsible for :

• Interpreting briefs to produce original content.
• Reworking content based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Ensuring all copy is proof read and free of errors.
• Using research to establish the strategy for reaching out to the target audience.
• Scheduling and conducting interviews with senior energy executives globally
• Operating a database of key companies and executives
• Analysing industry data and profiling market players
• Gathering
  - hand market intelligence and editing interview transcripts
• Generating content ideas and creating written materials for The Energy Year’s publications
• Attending exhibitions, conferences and other PR and networking activities
• Working abroad throughout the year

The international journalist and market analyst position consists of overseas posting throughout the year in the many markets The Energy Year is established in. The journalists are tasked with meeting and interviewing C-class business executives, attending leading energy events and gathering
- depth information on national energy trends, companies and business environments.

The successful candidate has:

• Year-round availability to travel and relocate to emerging markets on all continents
• A BA/BSc or MA/MSc degree backed by sound knowledge of international relations, economics, journalism, marketing or communications. Other majors will be considered too.
• Excellent communication skills and a proven adaptability to a global environment with a curious mind
• Ambition, drive and communicative energy with a highly independent and vivacious personality
• Team-playing abilities and strong social skills
• The ability to work under deadlines and to keep a cool head under pressure
• One to three years of relevant work experience, although new graduates will be considered
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English with a second language (preferably Spanish, Portuguese or French) being an advantage
• Excellent personal and professional presentation
• No travel restrictions
