You'll play a critical role in troubleshooting, maintaining hardware and software systems, and enhancing user satisfaction within our organisation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide first and
- tier technical support for hardware, software, and
- related issues. Troubleshoot
- reported issues across various channels (email, phone, ticketing systems) and escalate complex problems as needed. - Oversee and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Diagnose and resolve network performance issues to minimize downtime.
- Support the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT equipment such as computers, printers, and servers. Replace or repair faulty hardware components when required.
- Install, configure, and update software applications. Troubleshoot compatibility issues and ensure proper licensing compliance.
- Handle
- related tasks such as resolving connectivity issues, managing IP configurations, and maintaining network hardware. - Administer Active Directory, managing user accounts, groups, and organizational units.
- Set up, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, and virtualization platforms. Replace or repair defective components as necessary.
- Liaise with ISPs to resolve internet connection issues.
- Respond promptly to incidents and ensure compliance with SLA agreements.
- Install, update, and configure software on both Windows and Linux platforms.
- Manage Windows and Linux systems, including user accounts, file systems, permissions, and security configurations, ensuring system performance through regular updates and patches.
- Document resolutions to common issues and contribute to a knowledge base for internal use. Share knowledge and best practices with team members to enhance collaboration.
- Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and certifications. Pursue relevant training and certifications to enhance skills and support team growth.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in IT support, with a focus on networking, Windows systems, and Linux administration.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN) and experience with routers, switches, and firewalls. Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and Power
Shell scripting, with experience in MCSA-level tasks (server setup, maintenance, security). - Practical experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu, Cent
OS, Red Hat), including user management, system updates, shell scripting, and system configuration. - Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), with an understanding of virtual machines, snapshots, and resource management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to
- technical users clearly and effectively. - Customer-focused with a positive attitude, demonstrating professionalism in all interactions and delivering
- quality support. - Collaborative team player with a willingness to share knowledge and contribute to the team's overall success.
- Strong documentation skills for creating process guides and user documentation. Experience with helpdesk or ticketing systems is a plus.
- Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and legal holidays.
