Deloitte's Global Trade practice is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking motivated professionals to join our team. As a member of our team, you will provide customized customs compliance solutions to our clients, helping them navigate the complexities of moving goods across international borders. Who we are looking for: • Prior work experience in customer/client management skills • Strong time and resource management skills • Experience of customs/international trade is helpful but not required • Experience of working effectively and efficiently with MS Office, Outlook and Excel• Attention to detail and focus on quality • Fluency in spoken and written English (level C1) • Ability to follow set processes, while keeping a critical- set, spot potential improvements and communicate clearly to management • Very strong organizational and administrative abilities • Ability to use their initiative, manage high workload effectively and meet deadlines• Effective judgement and decision making • Attention to detail and focus on quality whilst ensuring efficiency and maintaining a high work output • Ability to manage and adapt to regular process and workload changes
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Your future role Key Responsibilities : • Allocation of Unique Consignment References (UCR) for shipments of goods to client customs brokers, collecting all relevant information and maintenance of UCR portal • Ensuring all documentation is received with 48 hours of issue of UCR and recording results • Updating job files as per work instructions and entering data accurately into our customs reporting systems • Checking all information available to process and submit declarations to the relevant UK authorities (HMRC) • Creating, processing and submitting customs declarations to HMRC • Contacting clients to confirm information or chase missing documentation / data • Liaising with clients and HMRC to resolve any declaration related issues (when applicable to do so) • Running and delivering management reports as agreed in standard operating procedures (as required) • Using electronic filing software to maintain filing and archiving • Responsible for adhering to company policy and industry legislation on customs • Cross checking work carried out by others in the team (peer reviews) • Work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution
