As a Principal Group Software Engineering Manager in Azure Storage, you will be responsible for leading the development center in Romania. This opportunity will allow you tobuild the team, define technical strategy, and deliver Azure Storage Services that can scale up to support exabytes of storage, and provide
- class reliability, performance, and security.

Azure Storage is a foundational service in the Azure Cloud which powers key storage services: Blob Storage, Disk Storage, Data Lake Storage, File Storage, Table Storage (No
SQL Key Value store), and Queue Storage. These services host data from some of the largest companies in the world and support all of Microsoft’s largest online businesses including One
Drive, Xbox, Office365, and Bing while scaling to store many exabytes of customer data.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Software engineering experience, including
- on technical management

Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
OR related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java

People Management Experience

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Responsibilities

You will also lead a world class, collaborative team of software engineers building software using agile methodologies.

You will be responsible for hiring talented engineers and establishing a fully independent development center in Romania.

You will define organizational and technical strategy, define objectives and key results (OKRs), and lead your team to deliver value for Azure Storage customers.

You need to be passionate about technology, innovation and creating distributed cloud platform services and
- grade software, as well as working on challenging new features in a relatively fast paced product development environment.

You should be motivated to make an impact, eager to learn and grow, comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and enjoy creative thinking.

You will collaborate with appropriate stakeholders across time zones to determine user requirements for a scenario.

You will proactively seek new knowledge and adapt to new trends, technical solutions, and patterns that will improve the availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products while also driving consistency in monitoring and operations at scale.
