The Python Engineer - Network and Security is responsible for developing and supporting new automated solutions to improve the management and security posture of the global Marsh & Mc
Lennan network. They will build and execute the strategic roadmap, with a focus on
- service solutions, integrated systems and automated processes for public cloud, private cloud, and traditional enterprise network environments.

THE ROLE & YOUR MISSION

Working closely with network engineering and security teams to develop automation solutions using Python, Django, Ansible and other frameworks as appropriate.

Developing automated integrations for various APIs, databases, and web applications to populate and maintain data in a network information source of truth.

Working to improve network data accuracy and availability to various teams across the organization.

Scheduling, monitoring, and reporting on automated job executions within automation orchestration systems.

Acting as a technical resource for other analysts on the team.

Assisting with diagnosing and correcting coding issues.

Communicating effectively with team members and management.

Ensuring code quality via peer reviews and automated scanning workflows.

Working with teams to develop project plans and communicate software development plans utilizing Agile development methodology.

Maintaining existing software solutions by assisting with software maintenance, upgrades, and migrations.

Providing technical support to colleagues for existing problems escalated as appropriate.

Researching and evaluating emerging technologies.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & VALUES

Development experience:

2+ years’ experience as Software Engineering

In depth experience developing with Python.

Developing within the Django framework.

SQL database design and maintenance.

REST API, Graph
QL, JQuery

Agile development methodology

Nice to have:

Using Automation frameworks like Nornir, Ansible.

SCM/Git

Azure Dev
Ops

Experience designing and deploying containerized applications with Kubernetes.

Automating Cloud infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle maintenance.

Experience developing with Go, Java, Java
Script, Mongo
DB

Experience working with Netbox, Rundeck, Splunk
