Role description:

The R&D Project Manager oversees software and hardware development projects within the Product House for specific contracted customer initiatives. The manager acts as the primary point of contact between the R&D Development organization and the projects. Responsibilities include coordinating and completing development projects on time, within budget, and according to the specific requirements of each customer project. The successful candidate will work closely with the Product House, PMO, System Design, Systems Engineering, and Sales teams to achieve these objectives.

The R&D Project Manager will set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor project progress while summarizing status updates for upper management. Additionally, they will identify and recruit new talent as needed to fulfill project requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will play a critical part in the system development cycle by supporting the identification of development tasks and directing the activities of the development team. This position demands excellent attention to detail, as you will need to analyze and understand customer needs and requirements, translating them into development estimates, requirements, and tasks that guide project development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and comprehend customer requirements during the tender and project qualification phases.
• Assist in defining project scope and objectives, engaging all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility.
• Participate in clarification and project meetings with customers, both locally and internationally.
• Support the definition of
  - level system, hardware, and software requirements.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress, and elaborate on the Project Development Plan.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document project needs.
• Follow up on the delivery of various development artifacts, such as System Requirements Specifications, System Architecture, System Interfaces, System Test Plans, User Documentation, System Features, How-To Guides, and Traceability Matrices, in support of the respective Development Project.
• Coordinate internal resources and
  - party vendors for the successful execution of projects.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Resolve any scheduling conflicts with other development projects in collaboration with the R&D Manager and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
• Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Measure project performance using established indicators and techniques.
• Report and escalate issues to management as necessary.
• Manage relationships with all stakeholders.
• Conduct risk management to minimize project risks.
• Track project performance to analyze the successful completion of both

• Meet estimated effort objectives and adjust project constraints based on collected data.
