Your future role
Take on a strategic challenge and apply your leadership skills in managing payrolls across multiple countries and clusters. Reporting directly to the leadership team, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining and delivering the overall strategic roadmap for payroll operations while collaborating with stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
You will lead a highly collaborative team, driving consistency in
- related global processes, maximizing operational efficiency, and aligning strategies with organizational objectives. As the key contact for payroll operations, your leadership will ensure timely and accurate delivery of payroll services while adhering to service level agreements and legal compliance.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the operational management of payroll vendors, maintaining compliance with contractual terms and service agreements, and fostering stakeholder engagement to ensure seamless communication. You’ll develop and implement strategies to enhance operational goals and objectives, making a significant impact on business success.

Achieving Business Results
• Accountability for customer response rates and smooth delivery of administration and HR processes in line with SLAs.
• Adjusting task allocation based on business risks, urgency, and commercial priorities.
• Acting as a final escalation point for complex challenges.
• Ensuring the team is equipped with necessary resources to meet service commitments.
• Collaborating across teams to share best practices and enhance processes.
Main Responsibilities
Payroll
• Ensure utilisation of synergies and standardisation, by process alignment and increasing resource capability across countries in scope
• Escalation point for complex,
- specific queries within the region
• Management of
- country payroll operations and people
• Ensure best practices are identified and implemented across the region in scope
• Responsible for the management of the 3rd party payroll provider contracts, in terms of ensuring service level agreements are met for each of the countries in scope
• Solves operational issues through the development of solutions to potentially complex problems, by focussing on new techniques, processes and workflows which may influence future payroll policy formation
• Drive payroll automation and digitization in processes
• Maximize the effectiveness of technologies and supporting processes to drive continuous improvement in payroll delivery
• Creates an environment that inspires and enables people to collaborate and move payroll forward.
Customer Relationship Management
• Creates a
- performance,
- centric culture throughout the Region, informed by input from key stakeholders and direct feedback from internal customers
• Maintains relationships with business stakeholders in payroll processes (e. g. Finance/GL) to ensure alignment in delivering an accurate,
- time service to the business
• Demonstrates strong communication and diplomacy skills with the ability to guide, influence and convince others, sometimes without formal authority
• Manages budgets and relationships with payroll providers, monitoring SLAs and performance and providing feedback on areas for improvement
Leadership
• Continually develops regional teams by exchanging
- specific knowledge, develops comprehensive team capabilities, by sharing responsibility and enabling
- country backup
• Actively develops a Lean culture and fosters an attitude of continuous improvement within the team
• Manages a team of payroll professionals in a
- country environment
• Sets employee objectives (both technical and behavioral), and manages team performance
• Facilitates employee development through coaching and thought leadership; identifies talent and ensures succession planning
• Nurtures a culture of empowerment, by actively encouraging team managers to make decisions
Payroll Compliance
• Responsible for compliance, both internal and external, across the countries in scope.

• Educational Degree in a relevant subject (e. g. Finance, Economics, Human Resources) or relevant experience
• Experience of vendor management
• Previous Project Management experience is desirable
• Proficiency in English is mandatory
• 5-10 years of experience in managing large teams is mandatory; management of remote teams is desirable
• Previous experience in Payroll is mandatory
• Extensive knowledge of Payroll processes and systems
• Comprehensive experience in payroll legislation, preferably
- country
• High level of
- initiative, with a strong sense of urgency, accountability and resilience
• Excellent customer and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage conflict and pressure, by effectively facilitating healthy interaction, discourse and decision making that builds consensus and alignment”
