The Senior Accountant will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes; will be responsible for assisting the Group Chief Accountant in tax and audit areas; will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
Responsibilities
- Ensure business transactions are recorded/posted in the ERP/accounting system in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Work closely with team members in the
- end close process. - Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
- Participate in
- end closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and financial reporting support. - Support in preparation and reconciliation of monthly/quarterly returns (e. g. D300, D390, D394, D100), intrastat, BNR reports.
- Preparation, monthly check and solving errors - D406 – SAFT.
- Assist with the audit process, assist with the preparation of the financial statements and related notes.
- Organize and prepare documentation of stock counts/annual inventories.
- Preparation of specific reports according to Group requirements / GAAP conversions (local GAAP to IFRS); Support the future transition to IFRS.
- Continually learn, share knowledge with other team members; providing guidance on best practices and resolving complex accounting issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve accounting discrepancies and inquiries.
- Assist with developing and updating process documentation and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Work with IT and the ERP support to configure accounting modules within the ERP system; execute test plans to ensure the ERP system functions correctly, identifying any discrepancies; provide ongoing support in troubleshooting for ERP-related issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Expertise in accounting principles and practices.
- Be capable of providing a good overview of the business transactions and their accurate reflection in accounting.
- Experience in auditing is preferred.
- Excellent analytical and
- solving skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- University degree in Finance, or Accountancy.
- Strong English language skills.
- Relevant (professional accounting experience 3+ years' in senior role).
- Highly adaptable and open to change.
- Advantage: knowledge of IFRS, exposure to multinational companies and/or group of companies.
