Job Description

Main tasks:

Under general supervision, this position will support, maintain, and configure Global communications infrastructure.

Manage and help implement LAN/WLAN architecture.

Schedules and performs installations and upgrades by established policies and procedures.

Conduct MAC (moves, adds, and changes) as requested.

Coordinating and performing telecommunications setup and add/moves/changes in a Vo
IP environment. This includes local and remote changes for Vo
IP programming (Cisco), and SIP Trucking.

Provides increased levels of performance utilizing advanced features such as QOS, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, HSRP, etc.

This position will support our plants/offices globally. Travel to these plants may be required

Installs, configures, monitors, and maintains network firewalls, modifying existing rule bases according to established policies.

Conduct MAC (moves, adds and changes) as requested

Creates
- site documentation for local IT to be able to better support devices at their locations.

Monitor and control network performance in the areas of response, throughput, and availability.

Plan maintenance and release upgrades on a timely basis.

Research specific products as necessary, participating in tool and vendor evaluations.

Work with Principle Engineer Network to develop/enhance procedures for LAN/WLAN/Firewall administration ( security, reliability)

Conduct MAC (moves, adds, and changes) as requested.

Creates

Qualifications

We are looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent experience.

3 - 7 years of related experience maintaining large enterprise infrastructure/network environments, performing hardware and software network engineering, and implementing LANs, WLANs

Switching/Routing experience.

Extensive experience working in
- scale data center/Global LAN environments.

Knowledge and experience dealing with data providers.

Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.

A thorough knowledge of LAN and WLAN architectures and routing protocols, and a thorough working knowledge of Internet protocols and services (TCP/IP, WWW, FTP, TELNET, SSH, SNMP, etc. )

Working knowledge of TACACS/RADIUS.

Basic knowledge of Cisco ISEs.

Experience with implementation and administration of network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls – preferably Cisco-based.

Excellent ability to create detailed physical and logical network diagrams and design documents. Advanced knowledge of Visio.

Knowledge and
- on experience with a full range of layer 1-7 technologies and protocols (advanced layer2; redundancy protocols, advanced OSPF, BGP, and other routing protocols, advanced layer4-7
- balancing, security, content management, and other technologies).

Should be familiar with Telco tools, such as toners,
- down tools, and others.

Project Management experience a plus.
