Funcom was founded 30 years ago, in 1993.  

We were there in the early days of the massively multiplayer online games, breaking new ground and pioneering features and business models that are commonplace today.

We’ve made over 25 games, from pixel platformers to more recent titles such as The Longest Journey, Conan Exiles, and Secret World Legends.

With Dune: Awakening, we are weaving together Open World Survival and MMO elements into a Dune tapestry that brings Frank Herbert's
- fi masterpiece to life in a completely unique way.

Today, over 400 people from more than 30 different nationalities work and play at Funcom across our 5 studios in Oslo, Norway; Lisbon, Portugal; Durham, North Carolina; Stockholm, Sweden; and Bucharest, Romania.

As a Senior Live
Ops Engineer at Funcom, you will play a main role in building and maintaining the infrastructure and servers that support our games. You will be responsible for managing servers, implementing comprehensive monitoring, and responding to incidents based on player feedback and requests from different stakeholders.

You will collaborate closely with developers, QA and production teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our games.

• Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of game servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Respond promptly to incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to prevent them from happening again.
• Ensure the scalability and reliability of our gaming platforms by implementing best practices.
• Analyze system performance and identify opportunities for optimization to enhance the gaming experience.
• Maintain and develop automation scripts to enhance deploying infrastructure and scale platforms on demand.
• Work directly with the player support team to address and resolve
  - reported issues.
• Work with other teams (QA, Automation, Production) to integrate new changes and in the end offer the best experience to our players’ community.

• An interest in video games and a keen enthusiasm for the gaming industry.
• Ability to set up, maintain, and diagnose Kubernetes clusters.
• Proficient in managing and troubleshooting Elastic Search.
• In-depth understanding of the Linux operating system, capable of diagnosing and resolving performance issues.
• Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of Rabbit
  MQ, Postgre
  SQL, networking, and experience with Terraform and Ansible scripts.

• Experience in scaling and managing Kubernetes clusters with 1000+ nodes.
• Proven experience in supporting
  - scale,
  - availability systems in a production setting.
• Experience with backend services in gaming environments.
• DDo
  S protection knowledge.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Live
  Ops or a similar role.
• Proficiency in English.
• Strong motivation, quick learning ability, and excellent communication skills.
• Positive and professional attitude.
• Strong analytical and
  - solving abilities.
