The Mission
In the Financial Market environment, building a platform integrating your own pricing and risk models is crucial to stay in control of your risk while keeping a competitive edge. ING Financial Markets has taken up the challenge by initiating the building of the ING Pricing Architecture (IPA) platform.
The IPA project landscape consists of
- oriented components that will enable the
- time and portfolio calculations of financial risk metrics and simulations (. Va
R, Expected Shortfall, Bilateral Margining) which are driven by new ECB regulation as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange). This will be a key platform in the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms, with 10 scrum teams cooperating towards one Financial Markets IT landscape.
The Trade Store project is one of the essential applications within the IPA domain. It serves the strategic Area purpose of pricing trade portfolios in a uniform way, regardless of data formats or additional complexities of various deal capture systems within the bank (. Murex, Summit). Aside from secondary purposes, the Trade Store application is responsible of:
Capturing all trade feeds within the bank via various integration methods, and handling their lifecycle;
Modeling the data in a uniform format based on each specific product using Google protocol buffers and compressed serialization;
Serving the data via high throughput APIs based on Google RPCs and distributed in memory caching systems for EOD risk pricing purposes;
Streaming the data for
- deal pricing purposes;
Your day to day
Even if you’ll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office’s garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
Monitor, support and run the IPA service consisting of multiple components such as the
- memory Trade Store (Java based, Apache Ignite, Linux technologies, distributed systems architecture) as well as the Calculation/Risk Engine, the Static Data Manager, the workflow Orchestrator and the Post Processing application.
Take care of incident management, and root cause analysis in case of unavailability and data quality issues. You communicate directly with users (Traders, Credit/Market Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York and Singapore.
Implement and work with the latest tooling with a strong focus on performance, stability and security
Find opportunities to automate the testing of existing features, performance, and security as well as the automation of deployments, monitoring, and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers.
IT Risk & security controls need to be put in place and accurately documented, for this you will need to get familiar and keep up to date with the ING Information Security Management Policy.
Continuous deployment and delivery using Azure Dev
Ops
Collaborate with the other Dev and Ops engineers to define/refine/improve the technical architecture of the application
Through Agile/Scrum, collaborate with the other Ops engineers to bring live new sprint releases every 2-4 weeks to Acceptance and Production.
What you’ll bring to the team
Experience : 5+ years of software engineering / operations experience
Tech stack/ knowledge :
Mandatory :
Advanced knowledge on CI/CD and experience with Git, Python, Ansible, Linux (Red
Hat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8), Shell scripting and working experience with JVM based applications
Experience with Azure Dev
Ops or similar tools such as Jenkins
Familiarity with Grafana and tools for alerting like Prometheus
Good understanding of the ELK Stack and how to interact with it
Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Service
Now, Checkmarx
Experience or affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts
IT Operations/Support experience, including Functional support to end users (such as Traders, Risk Managers, Collateral Managers but could be in another domain/field) combined with analytical skills to identify root causes in workflows incidents (data, technical, functional).
A customer focus, with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience.
A good team player, cross functional, enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment
Proactive and attentive to other’s needs
Nice to have:
Familiarity with Oracle 12c/19c with PL/SQL
Familiarity with
- memory caching tools such as Apache Ignite (Grid
Gain) or Redis
Familiarity with Docker and orchestration for it like Kubernetes or Openshift
Foreign languages: English (advanced)
Education : Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background, in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent
