About the Team:

The ECS CAE Data Management team is a key pillar within the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) CAE organization is the common theme across all CAE areas for database and data management technologies. Our mission is to establish reliable and efficient data foundations with

- class database and data management capabilities for ECS. This team works across all ECS CAE areas for database and data management technologies, providing expertise for operational excellence, analytics and insights, and automation driven intelligent data operations.

Summary:

We are looking for a database specialist with strong focus on databases and data management topics, experienced in MS SQL Server and SAP HANA best practices, cloud service engineering processes, transformation, and innovation services, with a strong background in technical/functional
-
- end data environment management. The candidate should provide functional and technical expertise across multiple technologies and business domains.

Key activities will include providing MS SQL Server expertise and supporting POCs, architectures, migrations/upgrades/patching (where applicable), automation, performance & tuning,
- demand expertise, and optimizing existing processes through automation and AI/ML.

Role Requirements and key responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement complex database solutions using SQL Server with a focus on scalability, performance, business continuity, integration, and security.
• Lead the installation, configuration, and management of MS SQL Server and define standard storage templates for various machine types.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and security teams to ensure seamless integration of SQL Server with existing systems and networks.
• Develop and implement best practices for SQL Server administration, including backup and recovery, system refreshes, patching, and performance tuning.
• Provide technical guidance and expertise in RISE migration projects, including
  - premises to cloud transitions and upgrades.
• Monitor and optimize MS SQL system performance, including database tuning, query optimization, and resource management.
• Conduct capacity planning and sizing for SQL Server deployments to meet business requirements.
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies for MS SQL systems.
• Troubleshoot SQL Server and HANA related issues and provide timely solutions.

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar with 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience as MS SQL Server specialist
• Strong expertise in MS SQL Server installation, configuration, administration, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server and SAP HANA database design, development, and optimization especially in the context of SAP applications.
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, including networking, security, and infrastructure services.
• Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies for MS SQL Server and other database technologies for SAP applications
• Strong Experience in designing, implementing, and onboarding Cloud Services and solutions to the solutions Portfolio.
• Strong analytical and
  - solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with
  - functional teams.
• Certification in SQL Server (e. g. , MCSA, MCSE) is preferred.

Good to Have:

• Architect level certification with one or more hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, or Shell scripting for MS SQL Server and SAP HANA administration
• Experience with SAP applications on MS SQL Server
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker in SAP environments
• Strong scripting / programming skills will be preferred.
• Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and/or SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and other SAP Saa
  S solutions.
• Familiarity with other SAP Database products – SAP ASE, SAP IQ, DB2, SAP Replication Server
• Familiarity with RISE with SAP offerings
