(Senior) Specialist, Learning & Development
ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Learning & Development Specialist supports the Learning & Development team in fostering a continuous learning culture within SES. This role advises the design and development of learning solutions aligned with adult learning principles and modern workplace learning strategies. This individual will play a pivotal role in the deployment of LMS features to enhance the learning experience at SES as well in creating development programs for key talent segments and upskilling initiatives.
You will be responsible for (this is not an exhaustive list):
- L&D Strategy Implementation est. 25% of time:
- Contribute to the development and execution of L&D strategies that support continuous learning and organizational goals.
- Support the creation of comprehensive learning plans and programs.
- Lead initiatives to deploy new LMS features to improve user experience and learning objectives.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning by supporting and engaging BEAM Ambassadors.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices and knowledge transfer within the team and across the organization.
- Manage learning technologies and vendors to ensure they meet organizational and employee needs and support seamless learning experiences.
- Learning Solutions Design and Development est. 30% of time:
- Advise the creation of innovative learning solutions that adhere to adult learning principles.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop engaging and effective learning experiences using various formats.
- Evaluate and recommend learning methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
- Learning Analytics and Improvement - est. 15% of time:
- Use learning analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning solutions and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop, monitor and report on key learning metrics to ensure continuous improvement.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to gather insights from learners and stakeholders for program refinement.
- Support Learning planning and budget process
- Manage Learning and Development Requests – est. 30% of time:
- Review learning requests received through Service
Now, L&D mailbox or other channels and coordinate with team members for resolution. - Manage learning requests by applying the L&D prioritization matrix, guidelines and following the agreed SLAs
- Conduct discovery calls with requesters to understand their learning needs, objectives, audience, and timeline.
- Identify the most suitable learning solution based on existing resources or conduct research for external providers or platforms.
- Provide recommendations and feedback to requesters and stakeholders on the proposed learning solution and ensure alignment with L&D strategy and budget.
- Contribute to the development and execution of L&D strategies that support continuous learning and organizational goals.
- Review learning requests received through Service
YOUR PROFILE
Must Have
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field, such as business, communications, HR, etc.
- Minimum five to seven years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on Learning & Development
- Proven experience in designing and developing effective learning solutions, in various formats, based on adult learning principles
- Experience in advising and supervising learning solution creation
- Working experience with Learning Management System, Learning Platforms and other related systems and tools
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment, and to adapt to changing needs and priorities
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Collaboration and teamwork: The ability to work well with others, both within and outside the L&D team, to achieve common goals and foster a positive and inclusive learning culture.
- Communication: Ability to impart or exchange information effectively with key stakeholders.
- Project management and prioritization: The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively, by prioritization and by using appropriate tools and processes.
- Consultancy and advisory: The ability to provide guidance and feedback to various stakeholders regarding the best learning solutions
- Learning Analytics: Ability to collect, analyze, interpret and communicate data effectively to drive learning and business outcomes and demonstrate the value of L&D
- Business Acumen: Ability to understand the business holistically and connect learning to larger organizational outcomes
- Agility: Ability to demonstrate resilience by quickly responding to ongoing shifts in the business’s learning needs and priorities and work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
- Customer Focus: understand and anticipate the needs and expectations of internal and/or external customers, and to deliver services that meet their expectation.
