Software Development Manager, Amazon Games
Welcome to Amazon Games Bucharest! Joining the ranks of the existing development teams in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego and Seattle, we’re excited to expand Amazon Games’ commitment to creating and publishing incredible games, and we’re on the lookout for talented folks to join us as we grow.
We are looking for a Software Development Manager who is as excited about games as we are. In this role, you will own a project where innovation and latest technologies will merge to build the next generation of systems to support our Games.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of Software Engineers fostering career growth and strong team culture
• Contribute ideas to product roadmap and execute technical strategy (set by Amazon games leadership) in collaboration with Product Managers, Designers and Engineering teams.
• Contribute ideas to
- term vision and execute technical strategies set by Amazon games leadership for the business
• Obsess over maintaining system performance and availability, and simplifying enterprise scale complexity.
• Regularly dive into architecture, code, test plans, project plans, deployments, and operations to drive excellence on your team and all projects that your team participates in
• Own operational excellence for your systems
About the team
At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs, including New World, with our studios and teams in Seattle, Orange County, San Diego, and Montreal. - class games working closely with our partners, leading with Lost Ark from Smilegate RPG, Throne and Liberty from NCSOFT, Blue Protocol from Bandai Namco Online as well as the next major entry in the Tomb Raider series from Crystal Dynamics.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience in engineering team management
- Experience in engineering
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Game Development experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
