As a Software Quality Team Leader working in our office in Cluj, you will lead a team that works on Garmin Connect, the fitness and wellness application that millions of Garmin customers rely on. We are looking forward to meet a Software Quality Team Leader, with automation testing experience (API) , who is willing to contribute in an end to end product development environment.
Garmin Connect is our best known, Fitness and Outdoor
- house companion app catering to over 20 millions active users and supporting an ever growing number of compatible Garmin devices (around 150 at this point). The feature set is very rich and targets our complex user base with running, cycling, wellness, training, smartwatch, golfing, diving, and even pregnancy tracking feature.
From this role, you will:
- Direct and coordinate a team of software quality engineers who administer, develop, and support QA engineering tools within Garmin`s QA engineering group
- Lead and mentor your QA automation team, ensuring they are motivated and equipped to succeed
- Oversee software development lifecycle, evaluating workload, adjusting schedules and priorities to make sure automated tests are delivered on time
- Drive, coordinate, supervise and facilitate the work processes of our team while being involved hands on in the

- day project delivery - Actively leading the solution creation, effort estimation, development, and project implementation
- Align the team and individual goals with the objectives of the organization
- Create, maintain, offer and improve the resources needed to increase performance of the team members
- Track KPIs for your team and drive continuous process improvement
- Collaborate with
- functional teams, including product management and design, to align development activities for the automation team - Ensure efficient communication between teams
- Support team members, peers, and other Garmin associates by actively seeking feedback, building networks, sharing successes, tools and knowledge
We believe that collaboration leads to the best ideas, and we rely heavily on team interaction. As a hybrid role based in Cluj-Napoca, this position will require at least 3 days in the office each week.
Requirements
- Experience in testing
- end/services with Insomnia or other similar tools - Write, review, execute and maintain automated test cases
- Maintain build automation system
- Experience with any OOP programming language
- Experience in debugging, checking logs, investigating reasons of test failures
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies (e. g. Scrum) and modern development practices like CI/CD, application resiliency and security
- Serves as a
- wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus - Customer-focused, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional user experience and qualitative and performant solutions
- Proven ability to manage complex software projects
- Team Leading and mentoring experience for small/medium teams
- Excellent
- solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and translate technical challenges into business solutions - Adaptable, proactive and passionate about innovation
- Focus on efficiency and resource management
- Excellent English knowledge, both written and verbally
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, plus a minimum of 7 years relevant experience
