Requirements and responsibilities
This position is for a Database Administrator to work on application development projects. You will work closely with technical leads and developers to assist in both logical and physical database design along with database & SQL performance tuning.
What you’ll do
- Design database applications, such as interfaces, data transfer mechanisms, global temporary tables, data partitions, and
- based indexes to enable efficient access to the generic database structure; - Design databases to support business applications, ensuring system scalability, security, performance, and reliability;
- Review and or Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views, or related database structures;
- Design and Develop extract load and transform (ETL) and Database design for data warehous;
- Develop or maintain backup processes, archived procedures, procedural codes, or queries for applications;
- Develop and document database architectures;
- Develop database architectural strategies at the modeling, design, and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements;
- Collaborate with solution architect, developers, business analysts, and others to understand business or industry requirements;
- Create and enforce database development standards and ensure
- team coordination; - Demonstrate database technical functionality, such as performance, security, and reliability;
- Coach and mentor other developers in our team;
- Ensure that our ways of working are consistent across the teams;
- Integration with other groups in the company related to hosting, DBA support, Server upgrades, and server support;
- We expect everyone on our team to present creative solutions to our technology problems;
- Perform work in a development environment, test in a staging environment, and work with other groups to push changes to production;
- Account for time spent on activities using a
- tracking application; - Maintain balanced relationships across the business community, technical team, and IT vendors;
- Manage client requests and expectations;
- Proactively and consistently communicate task status;
- Communicate risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies to appropriate stakeholders and escalate if necessary to ensure the project’s success;
- You will intereact with project managers, application developers, other analysts, and all levels of IT management;
- You will have contact with the end users and from time to time all levels of user management as well as IT vendors.
What you’ll bring
- Technical degree or equivalent business experience;
- Ability to communicate with user community, project management, developers, contractors, and all levels of management;
- Extensive database development experience;
- Significant SQL Server experience in a development environment responsible for design, build, and configuration;
- A significant development in SQL Server Stored Procedures;
- Data warehouse experience using SSIS;
- Ability to troubleshoot ETLs developed using SSIS, C#. Net;
- Ability to troubleshoot database mirroring and SQL Always on;
- Jira Experience;
- Worked in Web/Internet, Intranet, and/or Extranet development teams;
- Knowledge of logical and technical database application design;
- Critical thinking and
- solving skills; - Strong technical writing ability using department templates and tools;
- Knowledge of No
SQL and other cloud databases such as Cassandra or AWS RDS; - AWS Cloud knowledge (S3);
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle;
- Database modeling;
- SQL Performance tuning;
- Excellent communication skills in English in written and spoken form;
- Significant experience working in an agile environment, preferably in a variety of situations and spoken form.
Preferred:
- Have solid Agile (SCRUM) experience;
- Music industry royalty/copyright or other entertainment industry participation experience.
