We are seeking a Tax Consultant within our department, with knowledge on both indirect taxes and environmental fund.

The specialist will be responsible for individual professional growth, as well as the growth of the team and the practice, and will be encouraged to identify new business opportunities along with Managers and Partners.

The ideal candidate

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Finance or related field (advanced degree or professional certification is a plus).
• 3+ years of experience in environmental tax consulting, with expertise in VAT, excise and/or customs.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental tax laws (additional knowledge in excise duties, and/or customs regulations would be a plus).
• Knowledge of the new Romanian tax regulations.
• Open-minded,
  - oriented work approach.
• Experience in working in an international environment with mainly foreign clients.
• Team-oriented work in projects with professionals from different fields.
• Proficient in English both verbal and written.
• Very good Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the existing team in addressing daily compliance issues and providing expertise in environmental matters.
• Stay current on environmental tax regulations and ensure the company's adherence to applicable laws.
• Lead efforts to prepare and file accurate and timely environmental tax returns.
• Act as a consultant for clients, providing insights into environmental tax planning and compliance.
• Collaborate with clients to identify areas for improvement in environmental tax strategies.
• Collaborate with internal teams to assess the environmental impact of business operations.
• Recommend strategies to minimize the environmental footprint while aligning with tax obligations.
• Provide expert guidance on excise and/or customs duties, ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Stay abreast of changes in excise and/or customs laws and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
• Closely working with Tax Managers for technical research, tax compliance issues and tax reviews.
• Work both independently and as a part of a team with professionals at all levels.
• Operate professionally and with highest integrity.
• Manage proactively client relationships.
• Interface and establish credibility with senior level executives.
• Prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments, completing assignments on time and on budget.
